This study employed bibliometric analysis to visualize and examine 986 relevant articles from the Web of Science database, spanning from 2021 to 2024, using CiteSpace and VOSviewer. The analysis investigated research hotspots and trends in building fires from various dimensions, including annual publication trends, keyword co-occurrence maps, national collaboration networks, and clustering characteristics. The findings revealed that high-frequency keywords were instrumental in understanding and predicting building fire behavior and in formulating effective protective measures. The timeline maps and clustering diagrams indicated that building fire research exhibits multidisciplinary characteristics and continuous development trends. Particularly, with the rapid advancement of internet technology, smart firefighting is emerging as a new research direction. The results of this study can provide valuable references for researchers to further understand the development dynamics and trends in the application of building fire prevention.
