Analysis of the Role of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in the Formation of a Smart Environment

One of the ways to prevent people from living in the conditions of urbanization and to ease their lifestyle is to realize the ideas of “smart city” and “smart village”. Smart environments are settlements that use the latest manufacturing and information technologies to increase productivity, improve service and quality of life for people. Of course, in megacities where people live, this issue is more urgent and it is an important problem that needs to be resolved. Because creating people’s living comfort, opportunities for efficient use of resources, security, cooperation, convenient and accessible infrastructure, solving transportation problems, convenient and affordable infrastructure in a limited geographical area ensures their living comfort. The article examines the role of information and communication technologies in the formation of a smart environment. This issue was studied in previous articles on other indicators [Huseynov, E.H., Hasanova, H.R.: Multifactor development model of ICT sector. Baku (2019). (in Azerbaijani)]. The year 2017 was taken as the base year and the dynamics of the main indicators of the ICT sector until 2023 were studied. Then, the trend of the indicators for the years 2023–2026 was found, and as a result, the forecast model of the sector for 2026 was obtained. The necessity of ICT-oriented education in the formation of a smart environment was also expressed. According to a number of parameters, the possibilities of forming a smart environment in the country’s economic zones have been studied.
