摘要

In the second half of the twentieth century, humanity was faced with the problem of a shortage of a number of essential resources for life and further development, eradicating hunger and poverty of a huge number of the population on Earth. In this regard, in the world and in many countries, trends towards a transition to greater sustainability of economic development, taking into account the interests of future generations, have clearly emerged. Therefore, the article proposes to define the essence of the “green” economy as a trend in economic science that involves the simultaneous preservation and development of the biosphere and civilization, and as a way of conducting economic activity that is aimed at improving the well-being of people without risks to the biosphere. The postulates of the theory of “green” economy are studied, the key of which is the impossibility of satisfying endlessly growing needs in conditions of limited resources. A detailed description of the “green” economy at the present stage is given. The ways and tasks of society’s transition to sustainable development in the country are considered. The currently known characteristic features and principles of the “green” economy, its multiplier and anti-crisis potential are highlighted. An understanding of the essence and description of the goals of “green” technologies is proposed, which involves working not with the consequences, but with the causes of environmental problems.
