Green Aviation and Scientific-Technical Terms of Avia—Environmental Terminology in Modern English

The article is about problems of functioning of avia—environmental terminology in Modern English: general and essential features of avia—environmental terminology formation and important means of its translation from English into Russian. Special emphasis is put on different processes and means of term building, which determine their formation and functioning at the modern sphere of language development. The goal of this research is to investigate eccentricity of formation and translation of avia—environmental scientific—technical material. The multicomponent terms of the avia—environmental terminology are the object of this investigation. Definite consistency in professional English and Russian avia—environmental terminology are separated. The investigation of Modern English language shows that terms in professional vocabulary can be considered as a proof of similarity in word building processes and development of word combinations on Modern English and Russian languages. Poly-semantic terms and phrases are analyzed, besides (at the result of technical progress) generation of new terms and adding new meanings to the established terms are discussed, recommendations about the strategies of translation and choice of proper equivalents are given. The advantages of interdisciplinary links and combined approach in providing proper translation of avia—environmental technology texts is focused on.
