Forest as an Ecological Archetype in the Prose of Isa Mughanna (Huseynov)

Environmental problems and love of nature are reflected in the work of Isa Muganna (Huseynov), a prominent representative of Azerbaijani prose of the twentieth century. His works have been reviewed by literary critics mainly in sociological and philosophical aspects. The ecological philosophy of the writer has remained unnoticed. In our study, I. Mughanna’s work is analyzed in the context of the ecological archetype, the functionality of the image of the forest as an ecological archetype is determined. The novelty of the scientific work lies in the fact that for the first time in ecological discourse the work of Isa Mughanna is considered, for which the theory of archetypes by C.G. Jung is applied, and the concept of the archetype is included in the context of the analysis. As a result of the research, it is concluded that the forest as an ecological archetype is one of the dominant archetypes in Isa Muganna’s prose. The purpose of the study is to identify environmental archetypes reflected in the prose of the modern Azerbaijani writer Isa Mughanna. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to solve the following issues: first, to give a general description of Isa Mughanna’s philosophical work, secondly, to include the concept of archetype in the research context, and thirdly, to apply the concept of the archetype of I. Mughanna’s forest aesthetics.
