Exploring Human-Nature Dynamics: A Study of “Kitabi-Dada Gorgud” and Ecological Harmony

Since the creation of mankind, man has always seen himself in unity with nature, and in his original thinking, nature has always performed the function of a protective spirit for him. These beliefs, located in the lower layers of thinking, have not been lost even in later times, and people still revered the power of nature as a holy patron and showed respect to it. Maintaining the ecological order in nature has been one of the most important issues for humans. People believed that various elements of nature had a protective function in their initial imagination. We can highlight mountains, trees, water, different animals and birds. Mountains have always been characterized in mythological thought as a symbol of greatness and ownership. The tree was characterized as the beginning of life, as a continuation of the lineage, and also as a being that provides the transition between the upper and lower worlds. Because the branches and leaves of the tree stretch towards the sky, and the roots go to the ground. The connection of two worlds, or even three (fire, water, air, earth) that provide the basis of life, existence in mythological thinking. There has been a belief that water is also a means of ensuring between two worlds, provides order. This attitude of people to nature is also reflected in the oral texts that are the product of their thinking. In this sense, the epic “Kitabi-Dada Gorgud” is our precious of art monument, where the initial ideas about human-nature relations are preserved. Looking at the content of the epic, we see that in the content of the monument, nature and people live in unity and order. we see the order in society is also disturbed when the order in nature is violated. There are interesting examples of this in the content of the epic.
