Effects of Betulinic Acid in SK-UT-1leiomyosarcoma Cells on Cytotoxicity and TLR4-Myd88 Gene Expression

In this study, we detected the effects of betulinic acid (BA) on SKUT-1 leiomyosarcoma cells regarding cytotoxicity and the expression of TLR4-MyD88 genes. We observed a dose- and time-dependent reduction in cell viability following treatment with BA, indicating its cytotoxic effects on SKUT-1 cells. Additionally, we found that BA treatment led to alterations in the mRNA expression of TLR4 and MyD88 genes in SKUT-1 cells. These findings suggest a potential involvement of TLR4-MyD88 signaling pathway in mediating the cytotoxic effects of BA on leiomyosarcoma cells. Further elucidation of the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects could contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting TLR signaling in leiomyosarcoma. This study sheds light on the potential of betulinic acid as a candidate for further exploration in the context of leiomyosarcoma treatment.
