Current Sensorless MPPT Method for Solar Systems Using a High-Gain DC-DC Boost Converter

摘要

This research represents a current sensor less MPPT method for solar systems using a high-gain DC-DC boost converter. A method has been proposed to enhance the efficiency of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in photovoltaic systems utilizing one input voltage sensor and eliminating the need for expensive current sensors. In certain scenarios, the efficiency of the proposed method in terms of tracking accuracy and drift-free features is demonstrated through experimental results, where the presented approach shows promise for improving the overall performance of photovoltaic systems. Also, an improved structure will be presented under the title of a high-gain boost converter for solar cell applications. In general, the advantages of the designed converter include voltage gain and high efficiency, low voltage stress for switches and diodes, providing soft switching conditions, and finally reducing the volume of magnetic elements and the overall volume of the circuit.
