Assessment of the Risk of Capital Investments in Shares of the Oil Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan

The article, based on SOCAR statistical data for the period covering 2008–2022, assesses the level of risk from capital investments in the shares provided. The research revealed the positive impact of the use of nanotechnology in oil wells on the oil recovery factor. The article also carried out a correlation and regression analysis between private capital and SOCAR’s profit, determined and assessed the relationship between them. At the same time, the article substantiates that oil production volumes are increasing with the use of nanotechnology in SOCAR’s oil and gas production departments, and although the costs incurred for using this system lead to an increase in the cost of SOCAR’s commercial products in oil production, this leads to an increase in the overall profitability of production. As a result, nanotechnology used in oil wells has a positive effect on increasing the efficiency of well development processes by increasing the oil recovery factor during oil production.
