Socially Responsible Behaviour of Tourism Businesses in the Provision of Accommodation Services
摘要
Socially responsible behavior in relations with stakeholders, especially in the long term, creates added value in companies, and integration into the company’s strategy and all managerial processes brings benefits to all internal and external stakeholders. The integration of social responsibility as a modern management practice into business processes can improve relations with stakeholders and contribute to better corporate performance. Conflicting views over the past decades since the 1950s have given birth to many CSR theories as a clear testimony to the fact that the concept of CSR is dynamic and continues to develop, and trends have shifted from corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmer to sustainable development and social responsibility, and to understand the impact of CSR on “an organization's behavior, it is necessary to understand its progress” (Visagie et al. in J Soc Sci Res 5(12):1885–1892, 2019 [1]). The aim to assess the importance and level of corporate social responsibility in the treatment of stakeholders in organizations providing accommodation services. To achieve the objective of the study, the quantitative method of written questioning was used. The conducted research shows that in accommodation companies, the choice of social responsibility solutions integrated into the activities of the company is considered by a larger part of managers and employees to be important for enterprises, their benefits are recognized, but some respondents believe that the application of ethical and social responsibility is not always relevant for maintaining profit and competitiveness. In the results of the survey of managers and employees of the implementation companies, a significant difference of opinion was found when managers evaluate the situation with higher scores. Most employees and managers agree that it is appropriate to include discussions about ethics and social responsibility, to see the impact on profitability, efficiency, and see social responsibility as good business practices. Assessing the level of social responsibility, it is noted that most often accommodation companies pay attention to social responsibility in the market, the quality of services and customer information. Lower ratings are characterized by responsibility towards communities and responsibility towards company employees and the environment. The socially responsible behavior of accommodation businesses should focus precisely on these areas, not limited to obedience to the law, but should be involved in solving the problems of social and environmental.
