An anti-transformative time challenges us to surmount the boundaries of present societal frameworks and the lethargy of despair, which work to curtail possible futures and proclaim by default the inevitability and irreversibility of present institutions and practices. To put the challenge boldly, nowhere are basic reconceptualizations more urgently demanded than with the fulcrum that makes larger transformations feasible: first, in providing more evolved notions of human capacity on the psychodynamic, including moral and relational, levels; and to in turn elaborate the facilitative processes for achieving this healthy self-development as well as complementary institutional reframings that can establish the desired consolidations in place of the present patterns of self-formation.
