Why should an entire edited collection be devoted to the question of the usefulness of Erich Fromm’s ideas for radical Left strategy, and why now? The most obvious answer is that applying Frommian ideas to problems of contemporary Leftist strategy and organization is a worthwhile endeavour in its own right, especially since to date no volume or treatise systematically doing so has been produced.
