Russia has a long history of social entrepreneurship, which differs drastically from the “third sector” of European countries, and the concept of green economy is pretty new to it despite the fact of having developed ecology law. Analyzing and comparing the experiences of Russia and other BRICS countries in legal regulation of sustainable development can help to work out the unified understanding of the concept and reveal best practices in fostering it.
