This chapter and following chapters in this part will focus on the practical aspects of the four pillars of the US QIQualified Intermediary (QI) Agreement that became effective on 1 January 2023. This chapter will deal with documentationdocumentation of account holders for the purpose of determining Chapter 3 status, Chapter 4 status and any withholding or reporting that flows from such documentation. This chapter will deal with risk and liability and the increasing use of electronically signed digital substitute documentation.
