Pronation–supination contracture indicates loss of forearm rotation, either pronation or supination or both. Loss of pronation can be compensated by shoulder abduction, while loss of supination cannot be compensated with any motion because of the interference of humeral adduction by the body itself, thus indicating severe restriction in the activity of daily life.
