Diagnostic Imaging of the Stiff Wrist
摘要
Image diagnosis helps diagnosis of the stiff wrist or wrist contracture and decision making of treatment strategy. Radiographs show joint space narrowing at the radiocarpal and/or midcarpal joint space. Other pathologies such as scapholunate ligament rupture or scaphoid nonunion should be taken care. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) indicates loss of joint cartilage with narrowing of the joint space on T2*-weighted, proton-density or fat-suppression T1- and T2-weighted images. High-resolution MRI or 3-T MRI delineates the wrist well, especially in the stiff wrist. Arthrogram is still useful for depicting joint space condition and arthro-computed tomography (CT) provides detailed information.
