Hemi-Joint Replacement Arthroplasty in Stiff Elbow
摘要
Management of elbow stiffness caused by end-stage arthritis in young and/or active patients is challenging. In those patients, who suffer from intense pain and severe stiffness, when alternative procedures have failed or are not indicated, an elbow hemiarthroplasty (EHA) can be considered. Especially if the ulnar articular surface is still partially preserved, EHA can save the patients from the profound lifelong functional and activity restrictions required by a joint replacement with a total elbow arthroplasty (TEA) [1].
