This paper addresses an overview of the multifaceted challenges associated with load combination optimization in trailer design, emphasizing the vital significance of trailer stability and load efficiency within the transportation industry using genetic algorithm (GA) as a potent optimization technique. GA is used as it helps to navigate a vast search space and handle complex, non-linear relationships between variables making it perfectly suitable for cargo optimization. We have implemented a GA-based optimization approach, capable of systematically exploring the solution space for load distributions in cargo. The proposed methodology has been validated through real-world case studies and simulations, considering diverse cargo types and varying road conditions. Computational efficiency of the proposed approach has also been addressed.
