Classical Information and Classical Computation
摘要
Computers are a means of processing information. This information needs to be stored in some physical platform, and traditionally, these platforms have been systems that could be treated classically. In contrast, when that platform displays inherently quantum behavior, possibilities open up for new information processing capabilites. In this chapter, we look at classical computing and the quantification of classical information, in order to construct the scaffolding that quantum information processing will be built upon in later chapters.
