Achieving net zero by means of controlling the release of greenhouse gases emissions in line with the objective of climate change mitigation under the Paris Agreement. One of the measures that can be utilised is the Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS). It offers an opportunity for the capture and storage or utilisation of carbon dioxide emissions from industrial and energy-related processes or sources. This chapter examines the call for net zero in the context of energy transition and the use of CCUS. It analyses the influence of the Paris Agreement and its provisions in projecting the use of CCUS to achieve net zero and the future of CCUS in net zero. It concludes that the CCUS is not just a national or regional solution but a key component of the international effort of promoting net zero and climate change mitigation.
