In these years, the application of composites as aircraft structures has been well established, with their systematic repair methodology supplemented and advised by the aircraft manufacturers. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the actual step-by-step repair scheme methods of aircraft structures, secondly to highlight the technical hurdles and challenges of the best way to repair and improve the quality of the repair scheme. The scope of the study is focused on the structural bonded of aircraft composite sandwich repair using the step sanding method for the core and plies removal followed by hot bonder assisted curing process. The observations are conducted in accordance with the repair procedure in the structural repair manual (SRM) as the actual process of the bonded sandwich composite structural repair.
