This chapter is dedicated to review of basic logarithmic and exponential equations and inequalities and the techniques for solving them. By convention, \(\ln (x)\) implies “natural logarithm,” i.e., whose base is the number e, while \(\log (x)\) implies logarithm whose base is ten. In any other case, the base is stated explicitly. The use of most often used identities is demonstrated within typical forms of problems.
