Analysis of Circulation Flow and Mixing Time in Ruhrstahl-Heraeus Degasser with Argon Ladle Bottom Blowing Through Numerical Modeling
摘要
In this study, a mathematical modelMathematical model for a Ruhrstahl-HeraeusRuhrstahl-Heraeus (RH) degasser with a capacity of 86 tons was used to obtain recirculation rates, mixing times, and the fluid-dynamic behavior of the Ruhrstahl-HeraeusRuhrstahl-Heraeus (RH). This was achieved by coupling the multiphase Volume of Fluid model with the discrete phase model (DPM) for bubble tracking. The research proposed three scenarios: using conventional argon gas injection, injection at the bottom of the ladle, and combined methods. The combined injection resulted in shorter mixing times and increased recirculation rates, which improved the final product quality. Additionally, argon injected at the bottom of the ladle enhanced the stirring of the steel and influenced the ascent of the steelIron and steel.
