Bi: Spirituality and Responsibility
摘要
This chapter looks at dimensions of inwardness and spirituality along with the question of personal responsibility. Noting how elusive the self is, the chapter considers a range of Jewish attitudes to the self and the soul. The Hebrew word bi is shown to relate to that which is within me, on me, directed to me, or passing through me. It concludes that the search for spiritual fulfillment is not fundamentally separate from the quest for social improvement or the need for significant relationship.
