Tefachim: A Torah of Tension
摘要
This chapter relates to the Torah, a word employed to refer to a number of concepts and texts, covering metaphysical and physical dimensions. Employing an image relating to the length of the original tablets of the Torah, we explore the notion of a Torah given in tension, where God, humanity, and what lies between them all must come to expression. The chapter aims to set out a non-fundamentalist theology of revelation and to suggest why liberal Jews may be inclined to engage passionately with Torah.
