Despite an abundance of research on technological innovations and entrepreneurship, a significant dearth exists in literature concerning rural innovators and entrepreneurs. To offset this scarcity, the paper proposes utilizing case studies in various contexts to glean insights that could enhance the likelihood of success in rural settings. The core objective of this paper is to employ case studies alongside Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms to scrutinize rural entrepreneurship. The study investigates factors that either drive or impede rural entrepreneurship, with a focus on Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, and Italy. Indicative results include the following: German enterprises prioritize the bio-organic dimension of rurality, addressing concerns over resources and environmental sustainability. Belgian counterparts exhibit a comprehensive focus on the entire food supply chain, emphasizing interconnectivity and prompting considerations for production diversification. Despite challenges, Bulgarian rural enterprises emphasize the entire food supply chain and thoughtful land considerations. Greek and Spanish enterprises prioritize innovation and technology, overcoming rural poverty challenges. Italian enterprises, possibly influenced by perceived resource limitations, prioritize innovation and technology.
