To understand the historical dynamics and pressures on the contemporary Israeli-Palestinian context, the authors employ an historical lens that takes antisemitism seriously alongside Islamophobia, Orientalism, and colonialism. With this context established, the chapter explores various responses to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism and the present debate’s effects on Jewish-Christian relations.
