摘要

The planet is no longer able to support the current model of production of products and consumption, and thus a new conception of production models and processes becomes increasingly necessary. Humanity is in the era of the Anthropocene (New geological period, also called the “Age of Humanity,” was named by biologist Eugene Stoermer in the 1980s, who argued for observed global changes driven by increasing and intense human action.) and heading toward the destruction of self-preservation and extinction itself. The planet is suffering from pollution, water shortages, deforestation, and climate change. The excessive use of natural resources and the enormous generation of waste are causative factors that lead us to rethink people’s lifestyles, and in particular, the way Fashion is being consumed. Fashion is aesthetic, but it should also be ethical and natural evolutionary. The production of fashion products needs to be reviewed, so the design can be a fundamental tool in the conception of new products, and Circular Fashion offers alternatives in terms of more sustainable solutions for fashion products. The agenda of the Brazilian textile industry needs to be guided by sustainability and the Circular Economy, and it is desired that the existing challenges promote solutions that promise to radically change this sector, especially climate solutions. The methodology of this chapter is a qualitative, exploratory approach.
