There is a growing interest in mining and managing large amounts of big biological data, which has been rapidly accumulating in biological repositories and databases. Big data in biotechnology refers to a wide range of biological information, ranging from DNA sequences and protein structures to complicated biological processes and interactions. These possibilities frequently include the integration of technologies, combining the aspects of agricultural science, pharmaceutical science, bioinformatics, molecular and synthetic biology, and innovative development of biological devices to enhance biotechnology and life sciences. Some limitations of biological data are due to intrinsic characteristics of these data, such as high level of complexity, reproducibility, privacy, and heterogeneity. The biological system provides information in the form of data from a microscopic level to interactions between the organisms or their environment. This chapter focuses on providing a concise and reliable literature search of the application of big data analysis in biotechnological industries. In addition, the big data management, analysis and integration of data is also illustrated.

摘要
