Security Considerations for 5G Network Slicing
摘要
5G network slicing is an emerging technology that enables the sharing of physical resources for various purposes, used in multiple sectors, such as robotics, medicine, agriculture, mining, media, as well as applications such as IoT, Industry 4.0, among others. This article presents an overview of the potential security threats in the field of Network Slicing, the components that make up its physical infrastructure (RAN, CORE, and transport network slicing), as well as its lifecycle, which consists of the preparation, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning phases. Due to the risk of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, misconfiguration attacks and man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks, it is of paramount interest to propose and apply artificial intelligence-based frameworks as the main proposal to mitigate the impact of the constant threats that the 5G network could have.
