Innate Knowledge
摘要
Innate knowledge is knowledge that a person (or animal) is born with. This knowledge resided in the DNA of the single first cell. With development, this knowledge was stored in the DNA of all subsequent brain and body cells. Innate knowledge is inherited. It can be passed onto future generations. For a father, inborn knowledge in the DNA is passed down through sperm. For a mother, the inborn knowledge is passed down through an egg’s DNA. Knowledge gained after birth is not passed down to the next generation. This knowledge is stored in brain cells, not in all other body cells, and the only way for this knowledge to propagate from one generation to the next is through schooling. An example of innate knowledge of mammals is the control system for walking. A baby deer walks within a few minutes of birth. Like the baby deer, the human baby has the knowledge of walking installed in the developing brain before birth. The human fetus practices walking by kicking. At birth, the human baby does not walk. Once the leg muscles are developed enough, the baby walks. The walk algorithm is based on innate knowledge stored in long-term memory.
