Research on the Impact of Short-Range Technology as Cyber Attack Vector
摘要
In the realm of digital communication, short-range technologies like NFC and QR codes have seamlessly integrated into our daily lives, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency. However, this convenience often comes with overlooked vulnerabilities, posing significant risks to user security. This research aims to explore on the current security trends and potential risks associated with short-range technologies. By conducting this research, we seek to contribute to the development of comprehensive policies and strategies aimed at bolstering user protection against cybersecurity threats. An important facet of our research also involves educating users about the significance of online security and practical measures to safeguard themselves from potential cyber threats emanating from the use of technologies like NFC and QR codes. To achieve a grounded understanding of these issues, our research methodology includes quantitative analysis, where we collected data on the number of users interacting with specific QR codes or NFC tags. This approach provides a quantitative insight into the prevalence of cyber threats associated with these technologies. Additionally, we conducted a detailed user survey through a dedicated website. The results from this survey offer a clearer understanding of the demographic and behavioral characteristics of users who are more susceptible to such cyberattacks.
