This study examines the management of herder-farmer conflicts in the Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, with emphasis on their trends, management strategies, and lessons for peacebuilding. It argues that peace, security, and development implications of the surging and recurrent resource-use conflict between herders and farmers compelled the government and other stakeholders to seek mitigation through various management mechanisms and internal dynamics. Also, the study contends that the deleterious outcomes of the conflicts and attempted management initiatives have had serious repercussions on peacebuilding in Donga Mantung Division and Cameroon. The paper reflects on these tendencies and teases out salient lessons for sustainable peacebuilding.
