This study provides information regarding research highlights and gaps related to Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) in Natural Risk Management (NRM) through a Scopus-based bibliometric analysis and data from the Global Disaster Database (EM-DAT). The study analyses scientific publications from the last 10 years in terms of keywords, publication and citation trends, authors, and regions; quantity, type, and geographical location of disasters. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on scientific activity, an increment in publications about MCDA in NRM has been observed in recent years. China, India, and Iran are leading the research in this field, due to the high occurrence of disasters in Asia. In contrast, in in the American continent, specifically South America, the articles published do not match the disasters listed in the EM-DAT, which highlights the need to promote research in this region to increase its resilience and contribute to the strengthening of national risk management systems. The main limitation of this study is the use of Scopus and EM-DAT as data sources.
