Chapter 9 develops the concept of political autonomy as (1) concrete social-somatic freedom as the democratic mediation of free individuality and free society; (2) the substantial democratisation of material culture, leading to a deepened understanding of democratic socialism and communism; (3) the end of labour as the end of labour which is the beginning of history; and (4) the revolution for living stemming from the interdependent self and its embodiment, resulting in the self-determination of humans over their metabolism with nature. Since we can demonstrate in which sense it is the proletariat’s goal to emancipate lifetime from the dead labour of capital, its revolution for living can finally be understood as a concrete, realistic, and historical utopia beyond the scarce time policies of capital.
