This paper describes some of the salient features of the linguistic structure, and the sociolinguistic aspects of Kom, a language predominantly spoken in Manipur, India. Kom is considered an endangered language but this study will show that the language is far from being endangered. Considering various factors, it has been established that in the case of Kom, ‘multilingualism exists with language maintenance’.

摘要
