Diagnostic Testing (Duplex Ultrasound, CTA, MRA, Visceral Angiography, Celiac Ganglion Nerve Block) for Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome

Median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS) presents in patients as postprandial pain, weight loss, and vomiting. While no imaging modality is definitively diagnostic, certain radiographic findings in conjunction with clinical picture can aid in diagnosis. Here, we discuss the various imaging modalities and expected radiographic findings in MALS to aid providers in the diagnosis of this rare syndrome.
