One of the main considerations that must be made before the development of parameter and state estimators is to analyze the system characteristics. On one hand, it is important to analyze the properties of the states dynamics, in order to see if they are stable or not. On the other hand, the output measurements plays a crucial role on the system observability, that is, the possibility of reconstructing the unknown states from the measured outputs.
