The topic proves to be highly relevant due to the digitalization of retail, development of ESG- and eco-friendly agenda in enterprise management. Throughout the research, the authors define the role of energy monitoring in energy management and preservation in retail. The main directions of energy monitoring in retail outlets have been identified and characterized. The most widespread monitoring tools in the modern retail market are also distinguished and specified. As a result, the authors define major disadvantages of their application and develop the range of promising solutions. Results of the research can be used in further development of IT subsystem for energy managemnet at retail enterprises. The authors also elaborate on the major specifics of energy monitoring at network FMCG companies, the structure of energy costs, and the typification of modern IT technologies associated with energy consumption.
