The article considers the digital advantages that have arisen for the energy industry in the current conditions, as well as objectives that the authors highlighted as a necessary condition for the digital transformation of the energy industry. In the course of study, the authors give examples of digitalization in the industry from international practice and from the practice of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The objective of the paper is to study the features of digital transformation in the energy industry, using international practice and national experience of transformation. Methods of analysis and synthesis, methods of comparison and aggregation, as well as private research methods, such as graphical and tabular methods, have been used to conduct the study. The theoretical review and considered applied aspects of the study of the energy industry will make it possible to take into account the economic factors of the implementation of digital transformation in the industry as a whole, and in particular, in the energy system of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
