This chapter aims to investigate the effects of the human capital and the employment in high-tech sectors on the economic growth, given the business environment’s level of innovation. The key novelty lies in examining how education and employment variables behave in relation to the extent of innovation dissemination by companies. The study underscores the significance of innovation as a driver of growth and explores methodologies for its measurement. The implications of innovation on education (human capital) and employability (complementarity of productive capital and labor) are examined. The analysis utilizes quantitative methods, employing Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS) to estimate cointegrated panel data for the EU 27 during the period 2008–2021. This approach addresses endogeneity issues and mitigates biases associated with small sample sizes. Our results point out that employment in high-tech sectors is the primary driver of economic growth in states leading in innovation.
