A Numerical Study for a Problem with Different Regimes
摘要
This chapter presents a numerical study that includes a number of methods discussed in this monograph. The setup of this study incorporates several aspects that might be encountered in practice. First, the example is designed such that there are subdomains where the problem is convection-dominated, subdomains where it is reaction-dominated, and subdomains where diffusion dominates. The solution possesses interior layers but no exponential layer at the outflow boundary. This feature reflects the usual situation that the normal component of flow fields at rigid walls vanishes, i.e., there is no penetration through rigid walls. And finally, grids are used that are generated with a grid generator. These grids satisfy the Delaunay property from Definition 4.6 .
