The water treatment activity is essential for the population, as it provides drinking water for human consumption and various other activities. However, this process generates a significant amount of solid wasteSolid waste known as water treatment plant sludge (WTP). This study evaluated the feasibility of using sludge in the production of ceramic blocksCeramic block. Thus, part of the clayClays used in block manufacturing was replaced with sludge. Initially, the sludge and claysClays were characterized. Certain addition percentages were defined, then molded, fired at 950 ºC, and tested. The mixture that showed the best results was used in the production of ceramic blocksCeramic block, and its evaluation followed the NBR 15270:2013 standard (ABNT, 2013). It was found that the addition of sludge in low quantities did not negatively affect the expected properties for block manufacturing, confirming that sludge can be successfully used in this process, reducing or eliminating its disposal in landfills.
