Evaluation of the Physical and Mechanical Properties of Extruded, Pressed, and Fired Red Ceramic Blocks
摘要
This study assesses theRed ceramic blocks physical and mechanical propertiesMechanical properties of Extruded, Pressed, and Fired Red Ceramic BlocksRed ceramic blocks (BCEPQBCEPQ), produced with two different ceramicCeramics mass compositions. The clayey soils were analyzed both physically and chemically to correlate their properties with those of the BCEPQBCEPQ. The ceramic blocksCeramic block were evaluated according to the ABNT NBR 15,270–1 (2023) standard, considering geometric characteristics, water absorption index, and compressive strength. Two ceramicCeramics mass compositions were prepared, processed by extrusion (WD36) and hydraulic pressingHydraulic pressing (Eco Máquinas 7000), followed by drying and firing in a vault-type kiln. Production was conducted in partnership with Arte Cerâmica Sardinha. The results indicated that the geometric characteristics of the BCEPQBCEPQ (White and Red) conform to the standard. The White BCEPQBCEPQ exhibited superior performance in both water absorption index and compressive strength compared to the Red BCEPQBCEPQ.
