Activation of Granite Waste by Grinding for Applications as a Precursor in Geopolymers
摘要
The granite rock market hasGranite wastes grownGrinding worldwidePrecursor, andGeopolymers the stone is widely used in civil construction. Its production generates a powdery residueResidue that currently lacks a proper disposal method. Improper disposal of this material leads to accumulation in rivers, environmental pollution, and potential health problems for humans. As an alternative to disposal, this wasteWaste can be used to produce geopolymerGeopolymers binders for application in civil construction. To activate the material and ensure that the geopolymerGeopolymers achieves the necessary strength, grindingGrinding was performed at different time intervals. The residueResidue was characterized, and its pozzolanic activity—and, therefore, the effectiveness of the grindingGrinding—was tested using the Chapelle test, X-ray diffraction (XRDX-ray Diffraction (XRD)), and mechanical testing of specimens. The results were analyzed to determine whether it is feasible to use granite residueResidue as a precursorPrecursor.
