Emirates Global AluminiumAluminium (EGA) executed a project to enhance basement cleaning process in potlines by designing and manufacturing a new basement cleaning robot with advanced features. Cleaning of accumulated materials in Potroom basement is an everyday task required to improve the pot ventilation and pot life. The design involves making of a robust equipment which can operate in high magnetic fieldMagnetic field (up to 500 gauss), withstand against dust and heat and ideal for congested areas. The design features a fast-charging option and spare battery bank with transport carrier. The battery compartment is equipped with an automatic door to eliminate manual handling and overhead crane lifting/rigging operation. The design is a reliable solution which uses robust components eliminating the need to stop the machine for recharging, replacement of batteries and frequent maintenance. The machine also utilizes a split bucket that optimize the cleaning capabilities and eliminates manual work.
