The Relationship Between Casting Thickness and Surface Quality of 8079 Alloy Foils in Twin-Roll Casting
摘要
AA8079AA8079 is widely used in the packaging industryIndustry, particularly in the form of aluminum foilAluminum foil, due to its mechanical propertiesMechanical properties and rolling capability. One of the critical aspects of these applications is surfaceSurface quality. Since it directly affects printing and appearance quality, it is essential that the grain and rolling traces on the matte surfaceSurface of the foilFoil are not prominent. In this study, the AA8079AA8079 was cast using the twin-roll continuous castingContinuous casting method. The effects of different castingCasting thicknesses were experimentally studied and examined, along with various thermomechanical processes. The significance of castingCasting thickness variationVariations as a dominant factor in the thermomechanical production of packaging foilFoil products was investigated. The factors contributing to this variationVariations were characterized using metallurgical analysis techniques. The increase in castingCasting thickness significantly improves and homogenizes the castingCasting grain structure, which directly reflects on the final product quality.
