BATSCAN®—A Breakthrough for Industrial Inclusion Measurement in Aluminium Casthouses
摘要
AluminiumAluminium products areRecycling sensitiveProduct development to non-metallic inclusionsInclusions, to a greater or lesser extend depending on the application. Defining acceptable inclusionInclusions thresholds therefore requires inclusionsInclusions to be measured on a consistent basis. Currently, available inclusionInclusions monitoring technologies use equipment that analyzes samples either off-line or in-line, but with constraints as to the position where measurementsMeasurements are done. In recent years, BATSCAN®BATSCAN® has been developed for continuous, in-line inclusionInclusions detection and measurementMeasurements, with the ability to measure the final quality of the metalMetals to be cast even after a ceramic foam filterCeramic Foam Filter (CFF). After years of development and operation within Constellium, the BATSCAN®BATSCAN® is now being commercialized in cooperation with STAS. This paper will present the main functionalities of the industrial BATSCAN®BATSCAN®, detail its main technical characteristics, and provide examples of measurementsMeasurements to demonstrate the performance of this newly available, breakthrough equipment.
