This chapter characterizes the most important and promising clean coal technologies such as coal gasification in reactors and in the bed, oxy -combustion, supercritical power plants, CCS, CCU, CCUS, and innovative membrane techniques. It also describes the possibilities and methods of waste management generated in the coal combustion process. The waste is divided into two categories, gaseous waste such as SOx, NOx, CO2, and solid waste, mainly fly ash. The possibilities of waste management were also presented.
