We have started this book by describing the challenges that modern reconfigurable architectures are facing due to recent changes in technological evolution. In this chapter, we summarize the contributions of this book aimed at helping to overcome these challenges. We also list some potential avenues for future work, inspired by the conclusions of the preceding chapters, that could be beneficial for ensuring that FPGAs and other reconfigurable architectures deliver the performance that is expected from them.
